Reflection...
De
Bono thinking hats activity was a great learning opportunity as it accommodated
an exchange of ideas and opinions amongst a geographically diverse learning
community. The thought of someone else
reading your answers can be a tad intimidating, due to the fact that most
people will have different interpretations. However this provided an opportunity
to really consider using the thinking hats effectively. Throughout the activity
I found it hard not to be bias as I was coming from a student’s point of view,
which would be to push for allowing the use of mobile phones. But I had to readjust
my perception towards a teacher’s point of view which can sometimes be hard
with the lack of experience in this area. Using the De Bono thinking hats as a
form of scaffolding helped to insure that a range of areas such as judgement,
process, creativity, feelings, benefits and information were being answered
when completing the questions about mobile phones being used in classroom
environments. Overall I found this activity beneficial since that I had to
implement my week 1 and 2 readings into my answers, as well as creating a wiki
answers account and blog.
